Paul has over 25 years of management experience in the Information Technology area spanning several industries. He is currently principle partner behind the PAULDUPUIS.COM consulting group (http://www.pauldupuis.com/).

He previously served as Sr. Director for IS Governance at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Incorporated. There he built out a full featured governance group in 18 months, including business alignment and management of a 200+ project portfolio; policies, procedures, and compliance; and performance metrics and continuous improvement processes. Paul is also leading a $30MM, 3 year program to deliver all the processes and systems, from regulatory filings, clinical development, supply chain and quality, to commercial systems, to launch Vertex’s billion dollar drug for the treatment of Hepatitis C. Prior to establishing the Governance group, he served as Sr. Director for Information Technology for Vertex from 2000 to 2006, where he was responsible for Vertex’s worldwide technology infrastructure, including desktops, servers, networks, security, database services, supercomputing, and a wide assortment of research and clinical systems. In this role, he led development of innovative applications to accelerate research and clinical design using parallel supercomputing.

Prior to Vertex, Paul served as Vice President of Information Technology at Envision Development Corporation, a dot-com boom era firm providing software development and professional services, where among other accomplishments; he implemented the JD Edwards ERP system in a record 22 calendar days. Paul joined Envision Development Corporation after a brief stint with Biz2Net Corporation, a leading software and audio CD manufacturer and fulfillment house, where he was instrumental in upgrading their entire information systems infrastructure.

Paul previously worked for Boston College and, over his nearly 15 years at BC, served in technical and managerial roles spanning every aspect of BC’s nationally recognized Information Technology organization. His last position was as Director of Strategic Planning and Business Operations. From 1998 to 1999 Paul also served as acting CIO for Boston College, leading a transitional team that initiated improvements throughout the 120+ person IT organization. Prior to that Paul served as Director of Technology Planning & Integration, BC’s leading edge research & development group. Throughout his tenure at BC, Paul was actively involved in every aspect of computer and communications at Boston College’s nationally recognized, award winning Information Technology organization, including development of web based interfaces to a wide variety of host based applications and services.

Paul was the principle architect and developer of HyperRESEARCH, from ResearchWare, Inc., a best selling application for qualitative researchers in Sociology, Education, Advertising, Law, Medicine, and many other fields. He served as President and CTO for ResearchWare from 1990 to 1999, CFO from 2000 to 2009, and CFO & Head of Business Development from 2009 to present.

He received his Bachelors of Science in Mathematics from the University of Vermont and his Masters of Science in Computer Science from Boston College. He has served on numerous advisory boards for a variety of industry organizations. He has taught courses on and presented at major conferences on a wide variety of computer related topics from Managing Change in Higher Education to 3D Modeling to Trends in Thin-Client Computing toImproving Time to Market though Simulation.
