Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:VRTX)
Senior Director, Governance. Created and developed of a full featured IS governance organization from scratch. Within 18 months, the organization provided project and portfolio management (PMO), policies and standards, and performance based, metric-driven, continuous process improvement. Directed and managed all financial and regulatory compliance activities. Guided quality improvements in identity management and security. Drove risk assessment and quality control initiatives in IT and collaboratively in business lines utilizing a mix of in-house and outsources staff and services. Dramatically improved procure to pay processes in conjunction with financial leadership team. Used metrics-driven project reporting and analysis to enable corporate leadership to plan multiple investment scenarios for optimization of IS and business projects to achieve maximum alignment to corporate objectives and respond agilely to both opportunities and constraints in difficult financial times. Responsible for a portfolio of over 200 projects and $15MM per year. Senior Director, Infrastructure. Leadership of all infrastructure services including networking, servers, parallel computing, common applications and services, systems integration, application development, and desktop support. Established projects for comprehensive network monitoring; server performance improvements; and infrastructure enhancements supporting increased systems availability and disaster recovery. Envision Development Corporation (AMEX:EDV) (Biz2Net Corporation)
Vice President, Information Technology. Leadership of all Information Technology initiatives for the parent company, Envision Development Corporation, and its five subsidiaries. Responsible for the evaluation and assessment of the technological and business strengths and weaknesses of potential business partners and acquisitions. Provided a state-of-the-art corporate infrastructure including a Voice-over-IP phone system, fully fault-tolerant LAN, and Windows desktops and servers. Initiated projects for comprehensive network monitoring, Internet servers (web and database) fault tolerance, and disaster recovery. Implemented JD Edwards OneWorld financial suite in a record three weeks. Conducted formal due diligence assessments for potential and actual mergers and acquisitions. Initiated and led software design, development, and quality assurance projects. Designed sales and promotional materials for products. Priced IT products and services. Developed business plans. Managed major corporate reorganizations in acquisitions. Managed product development and quality assurance ranging from secure e-mail to wireless Internet services.
